Univerx Cloud

Voice services & telephony

Numbers and carrier connectivity come from the platform. Or you connect your own telephony and replace existing systems step by step via SIP. Every path can be mixed with the others.

Building blocks

Voice services & telephony in detail.

The building blocks at a glance – all in the same workspace and under the same administration.

  • Numbers from the platform

Get phone numbers directly from Univerx, without a contract of your own with a carrier.

  • Connect your own telephony

Your existing carrier stays. Univerx takes care of routing, dialogues and reporting.

  • Replace step by step

Connect existing systems via SIP and switch site by site, with no big-bang date.

  • Calls in the browser

A headset is enough. In the office or at home, the same functions are available, with no phone system on site.

#The phone is still the most important channel

For urgent, complicated or emotional matters, people pick up the phone. Chat and messaging change little about that. That is why voice at Univerx is not an extra module but part of the base.

How calls reach the network is your decision. Univerx offers three paths, and none excludes the others.

#Three paths to telephony

PathWhen it fitsWhat you keep
Numbers from the platformNew start, pilot, new sitesNothing to manage except the numbers
Connect your own telephonyExisting carrier contracts, special numbering plansYour carrier and your terms
Step-by-step replacement via SIPLarge systems, several sitesRunning operations until the switch

Many organisations mix: the pilot starts on platform numbers, head office stays with the current carrier for now, and the old system is replaced site by site via telephony integration.

#Calling from the browser

Employees make and take calls directly on the desktop in the browser. A headset is enough. Those working from home have the same functions as in the office: queues, transfer, consultation, conference and recording where permitted and consented to.

Calls then pass through the same call distribution as every other contact. The IVR and the voicebots build on the same voice layer.

#One network, one set of reports

Because every call runs over the same platform, calls appear in the same reports as chat and email. There is no second telephony statistic that someone has to reconcile with the channel reports.

#Built for peaks and exceptions

Cloud telephony grows when things get tight. A storm, an outage, a deadline: when many people call at once, you need no extra lines in the basement. Announcements, callback offers and self-service absorb the peak before it reaches the team.

Continuity plans get simpler too. If a site goes down, employees sign in from home and keep working with the same numbers and flows.

#How to start

  1. Take stock. Record numbers, carrier contracts, sites and systems.
  2. Choose the path. Decide per site: platform numbers, your own carrier or later replacement.
  3. Switch on a pilot. One team calls through Univerx; everything else keeps running unchanged.

Univerx Cloud

One cloud for every customer contact.

The shared base of every family: multi-tenant microservices, regions in the EU, telephony from the platform or with your own carrier, collaboration and one central administration.

  • Cloud architecture

Multi-tenant microservices that scale independently and are updated continuously. New functions arrive without an upgrade project and without a maintenance window you have to plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can we keep our existing numbers?

That depends on the number type and the carrier. Whether you move numbers or connect your carrier is settled in the workshop. Your customers do not have to learn a new number.

Do we need desk phones?

No. Calls run in the browser with a headset, in the office or at home.

How long does the switch take?

With numbers from the platform a pilot team can start quickly. Replacing a large system is planned site by site, at the pace your organisation can carry.
