Building blocks

Campaigns in detail.

The building blocks at a glance – all in the same workspace and under the same administration.

  • Dialling modes

Preview, progressive or predictive, depending on the campaign and how long the people you call may wait.

  • Digital channels

SMS, email and messaging from the same list, with templates and variables.

  • Multi-step

A message first, then a call if there is no response; you set sequence and intervals.

  • Checked before every contact

Call windows, suppression lists and consent are checked before each attempt.

  • Outcomes per record

Reached, not reached, callback agreed: every outcome is attached to the record.

#One list, many channels

A campaign starts with a list and a goal: confirm appointments, discuss a contract renewal, run a survey. Univerx Outbound uses the same list for voice, SMS, email and messaging. You maintain contacts and consent once, not per channel.

A campaign can have several steps. First a message goes out. If someone does not respond, a call follows after a set interval, provided consent and call window allow it.

#Dialling modes with judgement

ModeHow it worksSuited to
PreviewAgent sees the record and starts the callAdvice, complex requests, sensitive conversations
ProgressiveThe system dials as soon as someone is freeReminders, appointment setting, mid-sized lists
PredictiveThe system dials several numbers in parallelLarge lists with short conversations

Predictive mode is the fastest but also the riskiest. If someone answers and nobody is free, the result is a silent call.

Univerx shows the rate of such abandoned calls per campaign and lets you cap it. The term is explained in the glossary under predictive dialler.

Which mode fits is also a matter of principle. If you do not want to make the people you call wait, choose progressive or preview. It is slower, but every call starts with a person on the line.

#Checked before every attempt

A campaign can run for days. In that time consents change, suppression lists grow, call windows open and close. So Univerx checks not only when the list is imported but before every single contact attempt.

#Outcomes that keep working

Every outcome is attached to the record: reached, not reached, callback agreed, not interested, objection. An objection goes straight onto the suppression list. An agreed callback appears with the responsible person at the agreed time.

Campaign volume feeds into the forecast as an event, so inbound callbacks do not take staffing by surprise.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the dialling modes?

In preview mode the agent sees the record and starts the call. Progressive mode dials as soon as someone is free. Predictive mode dials several numbers in parallel and accepts short waits for the people called.

How do we avoid silent calls?

With a cautious predictive setting or with progressive dialling. The abandoned-call rate is shown per campaign and can be capped.

Can people call back?

Yes. Calls to the campaign number land in an inbound queue, and the agent sees which campaign the call belongs to.
